neubau Eyewear See and Do Good with Plastic Patrol
On a bright morning in East London, the neubau eyewear team headed down to the river bank at Hackney Wick to join Plastic Patrol for a river clean up.
Ivan R Cammack Optometrists joined neubeu Eyewear, as they set out to retrieve a large amount of rubbish, which included cans, plastic bottles, glass and even a cycling helmet.
Plastic Patrol is a global movement, created by environmentalist and adventurer Lizzie Carr, to rid the waterways of plastic pollution, intercepting it before it reaches the oceans. Over the past three years Plastic Patrol has hosted clean ups across the UK and the world, removing more than 230 tonne bags of plastic litter, and logging over 175,000 examples of pollution in the Plastic Patrol app across 60+ countries worldwide
As part of the neubau See and Do Good motto, armed with our paddles, buckets and lots of enthusiasm, the neubau team set about clearing the stretch of river near the London Olympic Park of plastic, junk and other litter. At the end of the clean up, we logged our rubbish collections on the Plastic Patrol app – important data, which is then used by Plastic Patrol to flag pollution hotspots with local government authorities.
